According to the Trades Union Congress (TUC), the government must reassess public sector wages in order to reduce the consequences of rising goods and service prices on workers.
Dr Yaw Baah, the TUC's General Secretary, told members at an organised labour pre-May Day Forum 2022 on Thursday that fuel costs had risen significantly since 2021, causing transportation fees to rise as a result, influencing the pricing of commodities.
Dr. Baah emphasised that while these are difficult times, employees should not be left to suffer alone. To relieve the economic burden, he stated that salaries must be increased.
