The status of some 3,350 students at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) who had their programmes of study postponed due to non-payment of tuition has been restored.

This occurred when the university's administration provided impacted students with a window of opportunity to pay their tuition and have their status restored.

Dr Daniel Norris Bekoe, director of the University Relations Office (URO), told the Daily Graphic in Kumasi yesterday that roughly 600 Ghanaian students and 750 international students made personal contributions, while the Dean of Students Scholarship Scheme aided 2,200 students.

The window of opportunity was created as a consequence of quick action by the university's Students Representative Council (SRC) and other stakeholders.
