Godfred Yeboah Dame, Attorney-General and Minister of Justice, has slammed some attorneys, accusing them of disparaging judges and courts when they disagree with particular rulings.
Mr Dame said it was now normal for lawyers to post critical remarks on social media about judges on so-called "political cases" in order to win political points at the start of the 2022 Bench, Bar and Faculty Conference (BBFC) in Accra on Thursday [April 21, 2022].
"This is frequently seen in discussion on so-called political cases, in which some attorneys believe the decision will have far-reaching implications for the goals of political parties with whom they sympathise.
"When confronted with unfavourable decisions, some lawyers go so far as to advocate for their clients."
