HE Tamás Endre Fehér, Hungary's new Ambassador to Ghana, made former President John Dramani Mahama a courtesy call.

He paid a formal visit to the latter in his office in Accra's Cantonments to introduce himself and discuss subjects of common interest between the two countries.

Mr Mahama welcomed the Ambassador, who will commence his assignment in September 2021, and recalled the long-standing connection between Ghana and Hungary, which dates back to President Kwame Nkrumah's administration.

The new Hungarian ambassador to Ghana is welcomed by John Mahama.

He noted how the two nations' relationship bloomed under his Foreign Minister, Madam Hanna Tetteh, whose mother was Hungarian, culminating in Hungarian scholarships to Ghana, which increased from 2 to 50 and eventually to 100.
