Sam Jonah, an astute businessman, has called the low amount of Ghanaian ownership in the local economy "disappointing."
The founder and chairman of Jonah Capital (Pty) Ltd, in an interview on GTV on Friday, questioned why citizens aren't interested in owning important and vital sectors of the country including telecommunications, mining, oil, and banking.
"Look at your mobile telecommunication firms, there is no Ghanaian, forget about Vodafone because Vodafone..., the Ghana government has a share and I don't even know what it is, maybe 20% or something...," he remarked.
"Whether it is MTN or Airteltigo, there is no Ghanaian who owns one percent of either," the Statesman continued. Take a look at the banks.
