According to the rumours circulating sports media, it is said that Harry Kane rejected a transfer move to Manchester United. The club has shown interest in the England captain, but he claims to be happy at Tottenham.

Apparently, Harry Kane would not be the first player to turn down a move to Manchester United. Since Sir Alex Ferguson retired in 2013, there have been several other players who rejected a move to Old Trafford.

Sir Alex Ferguson left Manchester United after he established himself as one of the greatest managers of all time. Ferguson won 13 Premier League titles and also 2 Champions League trophies in his 26 years as the club's history manager. It has been downhill for Manchester United since he left.

Manchester United have struggled with his departure and tried to find the best manager to replace him, but all the manager's they have tried never really found much success at the club.

United have also gotten it wrong several times with the new arrivals. Most of the players they bought ended up being a disappointment and never really showed their worth.

Old Trafford used to be the dream club for world-class talents, but their lack of success and mismanagement of the club have seen some top players like Harry Kane reject a move to the club.

Here Are 9 Players Who Have Rejected To Play For Manchester United Since Sir Alex Ferguson Retired

Gareth Bale

When Bale was prepared to leave Tottenham back in 2013 it was sure that he would end up in Real Madrid, but that did not stop other clubs from trying to sign the Welshman.

David Moyes was just hired at Manchester United and he made it clear that he wanted to sign Gareth Bale. Manchester United offered more money than Real Madrid, but that was not enough to convince him to join.

Sadio Mane

The Senegalese star has been a big part of Liverpool's success since he joined the club in 2016 from Southampton. Things could have been different though as he admitted that he almost signed a contract with Manchester United.

Sadio Mane has scored over 100 goals for Liverpool since he joined, so it is safe to say that Manchester United should have done more to get his signature.

Dimitri Payet

Every football fan knew Dimitri Payet when he was at West Ham, he was an amazing player but his forced moved away from West Ham gave him a bad name at the club.

Manchester United submitted their offer to sign him, but they could not convince the Frenchman to sign for them.

Cesc Fabregas

Fabregas was unhappy at Barcelona and he wanted the leave the club. Manchester United showed interest, but he wanted to stay for one more season at Barca before deciding his future.

Unfortunately, Manchester United could not get his signature and he left Barcelona to join Chelsea.

N'golo Kante

The world-class midifielder joined Chelsea almost immediately after Leicester City won the Premier League in 2016.

Jose Mourinho was Manchester United's manager at the time and he wanted N'golo Kante to partner up with Paul Pogba in the midfield. But Kante chose Chelsea and he seems happy at the club.

Jude Bellingham

This Englishman is currently having a wonderful time playing in the Bundesliga. He plays for Borussia Dortmund, but before he signed for the German side Manchester United were close to getting his signature.

Bellingham was even shown the United training grounds, but he was determined to go play for Borussia Dortmund.

Alvaro Morata

Before Alvaro Morata signed for Chelsea in 2017, he had the option to play for Manchester United but he turned down their offer.

Pedro Rodriguez

Manchester United were so close to signing Pedro but it looked as though there were not serious with the deal, so the Spaniard decided to go play for Chelsea instead.

Erling Haaland

The Norwegian striker is said to be one of the best in the world in that position. Top clubs are looking to sign him as he is still young with a lot of potential.

Erling Haaland joined Borussia Dortmund from Salzburg but could have easily signed for Manchester United.

Former Manchester United manager, Ole Gunnar Solskjær, was also a Norwegian striker during his playing days and tried to convince Haaland to join him at United.
