The forward was the hero of the day at Stamford Bridge, firing the Blues to a late victory, and he has now spoken about his coach's instructions.

Christian Pulisic has revealed what Thomas Tuchel told him before the USMNT international's late winner against West Ham in the Premier League on Sunday.

The forward came off the bench to break the deadlock for the Blues at Stamford Bridge, scoring late against a 10-man Hammers side to secure three vital points for the hosts.

That helps the club maintain its top-four position, and now Pulisic has opened up about what his coach expected of him before he took to the field in search of a crucial contribution.

What did Tuchel say to Pulisic before his winning goal?

"He just said to make a difference," Pulisic said after the game. "To join forces and create opportunities." It feels good to be more assured of a spot in the top four. We need to win at home, and it feels great to do so in front of our fans. We must finish the season strongly.

"We have some good league games ahead of us, followed by a final game. I needed to come in and make an impact, as well as demonstrate that I want to play."

What did Tuchel say on Pulisic's performance?

The manager of the forward was overjoyed to see his player make the promised contribution, and he addressed it in his own post-match interview, while also highlighting the contributions of Romelu Lukaku and Hakim Ziyech off the bench.

"I am delighted for him," he added. "I told him he made a good impression." Romelu was a part of the penalty. Hakim was dangerous, and Puli scored. In recent matches, he lacked confidence."
