Despite losing an early goal to Ciro Immobile, Milan came back to win Lazio 2-1 in extra time, with a thrilling goal. The Rossoneri had a bad start to the game, but Pioli's team was able to reassert its dominance after halftime. Milan were led to victory by Sandro Tonali, Rafael Leao, and Junior Messias, while the hosts' defense had a bad day at the job.
Lazio
7.5 Thomas Strakosha
Patric had a good day on the backline, passing to the midfield, but he struggled to keep the defense organized with Francesco Acerbi, which contributed to the late equalizer.
4.5 Francesco Acerbi
Acerbi had a quiet game until late in the second half, when a poor clearance effort allowed Zlatan and Tonali to combine for the game-winning goal.
7 Stefan Radu
Radu stood up effectively in one-on-one scenarios, despite having the difficult chore of guarding Junior Messias. In the second half, he also blocked a goal-bound corner kick off the line, keeping Lazio's hopes alive.
7 Manuel Lazzari
With Felipe Anderson on the wing, Lazzari performed a good job. In the first half, he took use of his speed by playing high and wide against the opposition.
6.5 Lucas Leiva
In front of the centre-backs, the former Liverpool player delivered effective defense. Sarri replaced the midfielder with Danilo Cataldi shortly after he received a yellow card, bolstering the midfield's agility.
8 – Sergej Milinkovic-Savic
While he did not contribute enough to the defense, Milinkovic-Savic was excellent in the attacking third. He scored the game's first goal with a fantastic cross and was the only dominant midfielder on either side.
5 Luis Alberto
Alberto struggled to locate and create space in the contest, only hitting the target once. Sarri replaced him with Toma Basic with 30 minutes remaining.
6-Felipe Anderson
Anderson's influence on the right wing decreased as Milan began to dominate possession, although being reasonably active in the first half.
6 Mattia Zaccagni
The winger showed flashes of brilliance when Lazio appeared to be in command early on, but he was unable to repeat his performance in the second half.
Ciro Immobile has a score of 8 out of ten.
The attacker made a fantastic move to get away from Pierre Kalulu for the opening goal, and he was rewarded with a simple tap-in. Immobile made good use of his speed and tactical awareness against Milan's backline, routinely getting on the ball and sending his teammates into space.
Milan
Mike Maignan – 7
Despite the fact that Milan's goalkeeper did not face many challenging shots, he produced another fantastic save in the first half. Maignan rushed out and won a brilliantly timed slide tackle to stop the attack when Immobile played Zaccagni behind the backline.
6 Pierre Kalulu
On an early Lazio corner, Kalulu lost sight of Immobile, allowing him to score the game's first goal. The young defender, though, was unfazed, and he continued to play his usual solid defense for the duration of the game.
5.5 Fikayo Tomori
Tomori was also largely to blame for the fourth-minute goal when he made a terrible defensive third turnover that nearly resulted in another goal. But, like Kalulu, his form improved, and the defender was eventually compensated for his shortcomings.
6-Calabria, Davide
The right-back did not give Radu or Zaccagni much room or time on defense, but he was rather quiet on the offensive side of the game.
7-Hernandez, Theo
Hernandez, who played beside Leao on the left, provided excellent assistance and worked effectively with his teammates. Hernandez played less cautiously in a more advanced position after Milan's poor first half, which dramatically enhanced the team's cohesion.
7.5 Franck Kessie
Kessie had a superb game in the defensive midfield, winning numerous tackles and giving a much-needed box-to-box presence. He also played a larger role in the Milan onslaught than normal.
5.5 Brahim Diaz
Diaz did not get nearly enough touches in the opening 60 minutes, only receiving 26 touches. He was able to secure a nice job.
8-Tonali, Sandro
Tonali produced a typical 90-minute performance, facilitating play efficiently from a deep midfield position. Then, as Milan sought for a winner in additional time, he collected a headed ball in the area from Zlatan and buried it from close range, scoring a crucial goal in Milan's Scudetto bid.
8-Rafael Leao (Rafael Leao)
Despite being surrounded on the wing, Leao put up another outstanding effort. He hit several precise efforts from outside the area and created the equalizer with a wonderful back-pass to Olivier Giroud.
8-Messias Junior
The Brazilian was one of Milan's most dangerous attacking players on the right side. In the channel, he was a force to be reckoned with, creating multiple opportunities for the Rossoneri.
He came close to scoring the game-winning goal in the second half, but his low show curled just past of the post.
7 – Olivier Giroud
Giroud had many attempts in the first half and ultimately scored five minutes after the interval. The striker's form had much improved, and his distribution, which had been weak in recent games, had also improved.
