On Wednesday morning, a couple in Kongo, Ghana's Upper East Region, was electrocuted after an electric wire they were drying their clothes on came into contact with a live wire.
According to Graphic Online, the couple, Joseph and Mary Bike, died instantly.
According to the narrative, Mary was the first to be electrocuted, and Joseph was also electrocuted while attempting to save his wife.
Mary went out to fetch water from a nearby well and was regrettably caught by the wire while she was dumping the water into a water reservoir, according to the story.
Mary appeared to be ignorant that the cable they used as a drying line was live with electrical current, according to neighbors.
She was said to have fallen unconscious as soon as she came into contact with water.
The occurrence drew the attention of family and neighbors, who rushed the pair to the Ayamfoya Memorial Hospital, where they were confirmed dead.
Their remains were taken to the health facility's morgue for preservation and autopsy.
