The new Chelsea home kit for the 2022-23 season has been 'leaked' online
Chelsea's home kit for the 2022-23 season appears to have been leaked online, with fans already divided over the shirt's new design.
revealed the first images of the club's new home shirt earlier this month before appearing to confirm its final design after a shirt – later determined to be a counterfeit due to the text on the inside of the shirt being skewed – was spotted in a Mexican shop.
The all-blue kit features Nike's new 'Vaporknit' pattern, while the Nike and Three logos are white, but it's the henley neckline that has fans divided.
Chelsea's new home jersey for the 2022-23 season has been 'leaked' online
Chelsea's new home shirt for the 2022-23 season has 'leaked' and been spotted in Mexico.
The picture shirt is a 'counterfeit,' according to Footy Headlines, because the Chelsea FC text is skewed, but the overall design is reportedly what the Blues will be wearing.
The neckline is adorned with a turquoise and white lion pattern inspired by the club's crest, making it the shirt's most distinguishing feature.
However, after seeing it on Footy Headlines, Chelsea fans took to Twitter to discuss the new shirt, and it appears to be a hot topic.
'The leaked kit seemed good until I looked at that collar...' tweeted one fan.
The unique white and turquoise neckline has divided Blues fans online.
Another user chastised Nike for their lack of innovation, with Chelsea given another template for their home kit.
'Why does Nike treat us so badly?' they wondered.
However, it wasn't all bad, with one fan saying, 'Looks incredible.' It'll be even better without the three logos.'
Another person commented that they wished the lion pattern from the collar was also used on the shirt's sleeves.
'If true, it's a shame they didn't use the collar details for the sleeves,' they tweeted.
The design divided Chelsea fans, with the collar being one of the most contentious points.
Chelsea have confirmed that they will wear shirts sponsored by Three for the remainder of the season, after the mobile phone operator announced in March that it would suspend their £40 million-a-year deal following news that Roman Abramovich had been sanctioned due to his ties with Vladimir Putin.
The Blues are in the process of being bought out, with three shortlisted buyers submitting final bids to buy the west London club last week.
