2 INCIDENTS ON THE KASOA-CAPE COAST ROUTE HAVE LEFT 20PEOPLE IN SERIOUS CONDITION

20 people have been left in critical condition while 26 others are reported to be receiving treatment after the incidents on tthe Kasoa-Cape Coast route

Twenty passengers are in serious condition after two separate incidents on the Kasoa-Cape Coast Highway in the Central Region. Another 26 individuals were hurt.The wounded are being treated at the Winneba Trauma and Specialist Hospital, according to Myjoyonline.com.According to the news site, the first disaster occurred in Gomoa Mpota, and the second occurred in Gomoa Mankessim.

 

According to authorities, the three cars involved in the initial accident were a Sprinter Benz bus, a KIA Rhino, and a DAF Trailer.

 

DOIII Kwesi Hughes, the Winneba Municipal Fire Service Commander, informed Adom News that the Kia Rhino tried to pass the Sprinter bus but collided with its side.Modes:

"It eventually collided with the DAF Trailer coming heading towards Cape Coast from Accra.

 

"D0III Hughes said 8 of the passengers who had been trapped in the bus were taken to the hospital.

 

"In the second accident, eyewitnesses revealed that a Sprinter Benz Bus with the registration number GN-2572-10 from Cape Coast to Accra burst its tyre and somersaulted in the process.

 

"The impact of the crash left many in critical condition.

 

"The Fire Service Commander, DOIII Kwesi Hughes explained that this was caused by overloading the vehicle with passengers.

 

"He said the driver was having 36 passengers instead 23 passengers including foodstuff.

 

"All 46 passengers are receiving treatment at Winneba Trauma and Specialist Hospital," Myjoyonline.com reports.

"It finally crashed with a DAF trailer traveling from Accra to Cape Coast.

 

"According to D0III Hughes, 8 of the passengers trapped in the bus were brought to the hospital.

"The Tema and Airport MTTD Accident Prevention Squads (APS) are on the scene directing traffic, and the Road Safety Management Service Limited staff is ready to assist with vehicle recovery and towing."

 

"The Accra bound motorists approaching the crash scenes are entreated to drive at a reasonable speed, and comply with police hand signals and orders," the statement continued.
