Some KNUST understudies who drive nearby don't bring their vehicles back home; they can't make sense of how they got it - Mgt
The University Relations Officer (URO) at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), Dr Norris Bekoe, has uncovered that a few understudies who drive nearby can't bring their vehicles back home during excursions since they can't make sense of for their folks how they got the means to purchase the vehicles.
He expressed this on the Sunrise show with Alfred Ocansey on 3FM while supporting the choice to concede the 6000 understudies for postponed instalments of expenses.
"Look, Alfred, it will astound you to realize that we have Students nearby who have vehicles, and when they are an extended get-away, they can't bring the vehicles back home since they will not have the option to let their folks know how they got those vehicles," Dr. Norris Bekoe said.
He added "I recall someplace last year or somewhere in the vicinity, an understudy had deceived the parent that he was essential for the graduating class and the parent had come for his graduation nearby just to figure out that the ward was in the second year after being in the school for a considerable length of time.
"That parent fell in the workplace of the Dean of Students. We needed to call the emergency vehicle to revive that parent"
In the meantime, the administration has consented to expand the cutoff time for an instalment of expenses for conceded understudies by one month.
