Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia made an unexpected visit to Sheikh Osman Nuhu Sharubutu, the National Chief Imam, at his Old Fadama house on Saturday to wish him well on his 103rd birthday.
The Vice President prayed for the Chief Imam's long life and good health so that the nation might continue to sip from his well of wisdom.
Dr. Bawumia stated that Ghana was experiencing peace and harmony in the West African Sub-region as a result of the friendly connections between Muslims and Christians, adding that the Chief Imam was a personification of peace who radiated through his interactions with people of all different faiths in Ghana.
"Happy 103rd Birthday to my father, the National Chief," Dr Bawumia said on his social media accounts.
"Mallam, as he is lovingly known, is an embodiment of Allah's incredible Grace, and we thank Allah for this magnificent man's life, which continues to inspire millions." He has been a driving force in Ghana for religious peace and cooperation."
"May Allah, the Almighty, continue to bless him with good health and a long life." Mallam, have a wonderful birthday!"
Through his spokesperson, Sheikh Aremeyaw Shaib, the Chief Imam praised the Vice President for his unexpected visit and prayed for the country's continuing peace and stability.
He prayed for Allah's wisdom and guidance for the President, Vice President, and other government officials.
