Nana Gyamfi, 22, was discovered dead in a bush in the Ashanti area of Ghana.
The victim was found to have a bloated neck and blood seeping from the nose, according to the police report.
About 20 metres distant from the corpse, a stick suspected of being used to whack the dead was discovered.
His buddy Emmanuel Boateng paid him a visit at his home in Esaso-Kwablafo, near Esereso, and the two later went out, but the deceased did not come home until he was discovered dead in the jungle, according to preliminary police inquiry.
The deceased was alleged to be clutching an iPhone 11 Pro, according to police. However, no one answered the phone when it arrived on the scene.
Following their investigation, police apprehended the culprit, Emmanuel Boateng, who confessed to the crime and brought them to the deceased's iPhone 11pro.
"The suspect admitted to the police that he owed the dead money. To help him prepare for school, the dead requested the same from him. "Because the suspect claimed he couldn't get the money, he led the victim to the crime location under the guise that his mother had purchased a building plot and that he should accompany him there and take photographs," according to the police report.
When they arrived, the suspect said that he informed the disease that he was attending nature's call and requested him to sit and wait for him.
