Following his loan spell with Crystal Palace, Sky Sports pundit Michael Bridge believes Conor Gallagher will return to Chelsea next season.

Bridge cannot see why the midfielder would be allowed to depart Stamford Bridge again after impressing at Selhurst Park this season.

Prior to Chelsea's 2-0 FA Cup semi-final victory over Palace, manager Thomas Tuchel informed reporters that Gallagher may be a part of the club's team next season.

"I feel Conor can contribute to our group and play a role with us, but I'm not the only one who has to make a decision." "We need to talk to everyone after the season and see what Conor wants," the German stated (via Chelsea official club website).

"His progress is exceptional and outstanding," he continued. He's one of Crystal Palace's important players, and he's taken a big stride forward in his progress up front."

While Gallagher was unable to have an effect in the FA Cup semi-final as Chelsea refused to let him to participate due to Palace's request, the £22.5 million-rated 22-year-old has been extremely influential in the Premier League this season.

He has been scoring goals from midfield, punishing Manchester City, West Ham United, and Palace's bitter rivals Brighton.

Gallagher, Bridge believes, will train at Cobham next season, implying that Chelsea has no reason to loan him out again now that he has shown himself in the Premier League.

"I would anticipate Gallagher to be part of the team next year," the Sky Sports reporter told GIVEMESPORT. They have no reason to loan him out again, in my opinion.

"I think he's shown that he can play in the Premier League – that's what loans are for." Gallagher provides Chelsea with the benefit of seeing him win man-of-the-match honors and turn games for Palace week after week."

Should Chelsea loan Gallagher out once more?

What happens with Chelsea's current midfield choices will determine a lot. Gallagher has shown he can play in the top flight of English football, but that does not guarantee a spot in Tuchel's starting lineup.

Mateo Kovacic, N'Golo Kante, Jorginho, and Ruben Loftus-Cheek are all vying for two slots at the moment, so it's difficult to see how Tuchel will give Gallagher a chance.

Kante and Jorginho, on the other hand, will be out of contract next year, forcing the Blues to make a decision this summer. If either player is permitted to go in the forthcoming transfer window, space may become available for the England international.

Chelsea should surely keep hold of their academy product in that case. However, if the Blues do sell one of their big bats, you can bet they'll sign a replacement, further complicating Gallagher's situation.
