LIVERPOOL'S INCREDIBLE RECORD WHEN THIAGO AND FABINHO FIRST STARTED TOGETHER.

Jurgen Klopp has been unable to put Thiago Alcantara with Fabinho as frequently as he would like since bringing him into the Liverpool squad in summer 2020. The results, though, are amazing when the two play together in midfield.

Thiago joined Liverpool in September 2020, but his debut was postponed due to his contract dispute with Covid. He was finally able to play in October, and he started alongside Fabinho in the Goodison Park derby against Everton on October 17.

The game ended 2-2, but the injury to Thiago and Virgil van Dijk – inflicted by challenges from Richarlison and Jordan Pickford, respectively – has left Liverpool's best-laid plans in shambles.

Thiago was forced to sit out for two and a half months. Even when he returned, he couldn't play in midfield alongside Fabinho because the Brazilian was filling in for the injured Van Dijk.

Finally, in March 2021, Fabinho and Thiago were able to team up in midfield for the Champions League last-16 second leg against RB Leipzig, laying the groundwork for a fantastic combination.

With goals from Sadio Mane and Mohamed Salah in the second half, Liverpool won 2-0 and advanced 4-0 on aggregate.

Since then, Liverpool has enjoyed a fantastic record when Thiago and Fabinho have started every game together in midfield, losing only once in 25 games.

Even more impressive is how convincingly Liverpool appears to win when the Brazilian and Spanish internationals play together.

Despite the fact that neither guy is known for rattling the onion bag, the sturdy base and forward impetus they provide from midfield has resulted in Liverpool scoring 2.68 goals per game when they start together.

As you might anticipate, when Thiago and Fabinho combine, Liverpool concedes very few goals.

The full statistical breakdown of a fantastic cooperation may be found below. If Klopp can maintain the duo fit for the next month, Liverpool may be able to claim the much-discussed quadruple.
