Granada CF of Spain is interested in signing Ghana midfielder Mubarak Wakaso during the summer transfer window, according to an exclusive report. The laliga team is looking for a midfielder to help them compete in the upcoming season.

The 31-year-old is at the top of manager Aitor Karanka's list of players for next season, as he looks to bolster his squad after a difficult season in 2021/22.

Granada is currently fighting for survival, but the club is already preparing for whatever happens at the end of the season.

According to reports, talks between the two parties are set to begin, with Wakaso open to returning to Spain, where he flourished for the majority of his career.

Wakaso spent the majority of his career with Deportivo Alaves in Spain before moving to China.

Wakaso was unable to compete in the recent AFCON in Cameroon due to injury.

Wakaso's return to Granada will be his second stint with the club, having excelled during the 2016/17 season.

After playing for Elche CF, Villarreal CF, RCD Espanyol, UD Las Palmas, and Deportivo Alavés, the ex-Celtic player has extensive experience in Spain.

The hardworking midfielder relocated to China in 2020, where he first played for Jiangsu Suning, where he helped them win the Chinese Super League, before joining Shenzen FC.

Wakaso is currently unattached, but other clubs in Spain are interested in him.

The midfielder requires a team that will help him improve his performance in order to be selected to represent Ghana in the upcoming World Cup.
