Evangelist Jimmy Swaggart in the 1980’s had one of the biggest ministries and was making such a tremendous impact in winning the lost like very few during that decade. By 1983, more than 250 television stations were broadcasting Swaggart's powerful telecasts. But, because of sexual immorality his ministry was nearly destroyed, never to return to the height of ministry like he was experiencing in the ‘80’s. We expect it from unbelievers, but what is so sad many Christians kill our wounded. Even after his genuinely repentance to the world, it seemed many in the Body of Christ didn’t welcome him back with open arms. We who are spiritual should be the very ones who welcome back and encourage fallen ministers back to the pulpit, instead of turning our backs to them. May God help us to learn to bring healing and restoration to individuals who have made mistakes.
