The French striker has collapsed on the field several times due to a physiological condition that causes him to faint. He collapsed while playing for Swansea City, Galatasaray, and Al-Hilal.
The Cameroonian midfielder was injured during a Confederations Cup match in 2003. Medical personnel attempted to resuscitate the 28-year-old on the pitch before he was carried away on a stretcher.
However, they were unable to revive his heart, and he was declared dead.
Juan Antonio Puerta
The Sevilla midfielder passed out while jogging back in the first game of the 2007-08 La Liga season against Getafe, and despite being carried off the field, he collapsed again in the dressing room.
Puerta, a Spain international, was taken to the hospital and died three days later from "multiple organ failure" caused by a heart attack at the age of 22.
Four months after leaving Newcastle United, the midfielder collapsed during a training session with Beijing Enterprises. The 30-year-old Ivorian died in hospital.
Feher, Miklos
After suffering a heart attack while playing for Portuguese club Benfica against Vitoria Guimaraes in January 2004, the Hungary striker keeled over in pain and fell backwards into the pitch.
The comatose 24-year-old was rushed to the hospital on a stretcher after medics attempted to resuscitate him. Doctors tried to resuscitate him for approximately 90 minutes before declaring him dead.
