1. Xavier

Xavier Hernández Creus, nicknamed Xavi, is a Spanish professional football manager and former player who currently serves as the manager of La Liga club Barcelona. Xavi, widely regarded as one of the greatest midfielders of all time, was renowned for his passing. He joined La Masia, Barcelona's youth academy, at the age of 11, and made his first-team debut against Mallorca in August 1998.

He played 767 official matches in total, a former club record now held by Lionel Messi, and scored 85 goals. Xavi is the first player in club history to appear in 150 European and FIFA Club World Cup matches. Xavi won eight La Liga titles and four UEFA Champions League titles with Barcelona. Xavi finished third in the FIFA World Player of the Year award in 2009, and third in the FIFA Ballon D'Or award in 2010 and 2011. In 2011, he finished second to Messi in the UEFA Best Player in Europe Award. He left Barcelona in 2015 for Al Sadd, where he won four trophies before retiring in 2019. He is one of the few players with a recorded career.

Xavi helped Spain win the FIFA World Youth Championship in 1999 and the Olympic silver medal in 2000. He was capped 133 times for his country after making his senior team debut in 2000, and was a key figure in the team's success. He was a key figure in Spain's 2010 FIFA World Cup victory, as well as their victories at UEFA Euro 2008 and UEFA Euro 2012. At UEFA Euro 2008, he was named Player of the Tournament, and he was named to the UEFA Euro Team of the Tournament in 2008 and 2012. After setting up the only goal in the UEFA Euro 2012 Final, Xavi became the first player to record assists in two separate European finals.

Xavi received the Prince of Asturias Award in 2012, and he won 32 trophies during his career, making him the second-most decorated Spanish player in history, trailing only former teammate Andrés Iniesta. Xavi transitioned to coaching after retiring, and he was named manager of Qatar Stars League club Al Sadd in May 2019, where he won seven titles in less than three years. Xavi was named manager of his former club Barcelona in November 2021.

Andrea Pirlo is number two.

Andrea Pirlo Ufficiale OMRI is a former player and professional football coach from Italy who most recently served as the head coach of Serie A club Juventus. Pirlo was regarded as one of the best deep-lying playmakers of all time, and he was known for his vision, ball control, technique, creativity, passing, and free kick ability.

Iniesta has been named to the FIFA FIFPro World XI nine times and the UEFA Team of the Year six times. He was named to the UEFA Euro XI All-Time Team. In 2012, he was named the UEFA Best Player in Europe, and in 2012 and 2013, he was named the IFFHS World's Best Playmaker. Iniesta finished second to Lionel Messi for the FIFA Ballon d'Or in 2010 and third in 2012.
