Speaking at the clean up exercise, Aps. Dr. Dela Quampah an Executive Council Member of the Church and the Area Head expressed his appreciation to the members and staff of both Zoomlion Co. Ltd. and the Environmental Heath Department for partnering with the Church in providing the needed tools and staff for this exercise. He advised that, this should not be a nineday wonder but should serve as a precursor for all to continue the campaign everywhere.

In a short address by the Area Coordinator Ps. Nelson Agbove of Bankoe District, he said, since we are the children of God, He has created this very beautiful environment and has entrusted it in our hands to care for it. Hence, He expects us to maintain the environment and make it as habitable as possible.

As custodians, he said, the onus lies on us to keep the environment clean and to instruct others to do so.

Mrs. Stella Awusavi, the Volta Regional Environmental Health Officer commended the Church for having picked up this project which is contributing to the overall agenda of maintaining a clean environment. She beckoned all other institutions and individuals to come on board since the cleaning of our environment is a collective effort.

Miss. Comfort Sunu, the Deputy Municipal Environmental Health Officer of Ho was amazed to see how members of the Church were present to honour this program amidst the rainfall. She urged the few market women who joined the campaign to ensure that, they continue with this exercise and serve as environmental ambassadors at the market place.

This she said would help to maintain our hard-earned accreditation of being the cleanest city in Ghana.

Mrs. Sefakor Kugblenu of Zoomlion Co. Ltd. assured the Church of their readiness to partner with any Church as well as any individual or groups in embarking on similar campaigns.

Addressing the campaigners after the exercise, the Area Head admonished all to continue educating the public on maintaining their environment and to serve as environmental change agents wherever they find themselves.
