Italy defender Giorgio Chiellini will resign from global football after the European bosses play a friendly against their South American partners Argentina at Wembley in June.
Italy's inability to fit the bill during the current year's World Cup in Qatar appears to have hurried the 37-year-old Juventus safeguard's choice, with the Argentina match in London, where the Azzurri brought home the European Championship last July, to be his last.
"I'll express farewell to the public group at Wembley, which is where I encountered the apex of my profession winning the Euros," Chiellini told DAZN after Juve's 2-1 win at Sassuolo in Serie An on Monday.
"I might want to express farewell to the Azzurri with a pleasant memory. That will positively be my last game with Italy."
With 116 appearances for the public group, Chiellini is joint fifth in the record-breaking Italy diagrams close by Andrea Pirlo, with just Daniele De Rossi, Paolo Maldini, Fabio Cannavaro and Gianluigi Buffon in front of him.
The veteran community back, who came on as a substitute for Juventus on Monday, has not chosen whether to delay his club vocation past this season, nonetheless.
"My relationship with Juventus isn't finishing, it will go on forever," he added. "Obviously, from this point to the furthest limit of the time I really do need to assess everything, converse with my family about what is ideal.
"We should arrive at fourth spot (in Serie A) first and win the Coppa Italia, then we'll plunk down with my two families - at home and Juventus - to sort out what is best for everybody.
"It was a similar the previous summer, I took time and didn't sign the new agreement until after the Euros. At my age, you can't look excessively far into the long haul, yet that is just regular, it's generally fine."
Juve are fourth, eight points clear of fifth-set AS Roma, with four matches staying in the race for a Champions League spot. They face Inter Milan in the Coppa Italia last on 11 May.
