Only seven players are considered 'untouchables' by Barcelona, according to reports.

Barcelona's transfer intentions are starting to take shape as the summer window approaches. Despite the positive atmosphere produced around Camp Nou since Xavi's appointment, the team's performance over the last few weeks has demonstrated that they still have a long way to go.

Barça president Joan Laporta understands this and is prepared to make the necessary changes at the club to assist the manager in returning the team to glory.

When Laporta became president for the first time in 2003, the club underwent a massive restructure, with as many as 14 players leaving and 11 new faces joining.

According to SPORT, there is a feeling within the club that a similar restructure is required this summer in order for the Blaugrana to return to their rightful place.

After the events of the past few weeks, which have put Barcelona's second-place finish in doubt, Laporta and his board are preparing for a'revolution,' believing that the squad requires a complete makeover, they believe that the squad requires a complete makeover, which would see them miss out on the Spanish Super Cup next season.

Several players on the list are said to be below the standard required to represent Barcelona, and Laporta is willing to weed them out and replace them with individuals who can help turn things around quickly and become part of the long-term plan. Barça have picked seven players who they believe will be critical to the team's success in the near and long term, and have declared them untouchables ahead of the summer transfer window. Ansu Fati, Pedri, Ronald Araujo, Gavi, Nico Gonzalez, summer signing Eric Garcia, and January arrival Ferran Torres are the seven stars. These seven players, according to the Blaugrana, have demonstrated the level required to be regarded the team's core for the present and future.

The rest of the players may be allowed to depart if adequate offers arrive, with the Catalan giants prepared to replace them with stars of higher quality and level.

Financial difficulties could stymie the Blaugrana's goals, but the club is working on solutions, including the CVC transaction, the sale of a 49 percent part in Barça Studios, and the creation of Barça Licensing and Merchandising.

According to the source, Laporta's plan is a "Open Heart Surgery," with the board willing to go ahead with it despite the challenges that may arise.
