It is very disheartened when the cost of broiler rise to 400+, and the cost of the feed is also high, these have caused a great increase in the cost of producing broiler.
The only solution is to learn how to formulate your feed
It is not new again that the cost of feed carry a big percentage in poultry production which is about 70-75 percent, The high cost of feed as been the major setback and drastically increase the cost of production. *If your feed is superb and management, you spend less in Drugs and Vaccines*
To reduce the cost of production, we need to reduce the cost of feed by formulating good feed for the birds without compromising their nutrient requirement.
Least cost Broiler starter Formulas
Maize = 48 kg
SBM = 23 Kg
Cray fish/ local fish residue = 3kg
GNC. = 10 Kg
Rice bran = 3kg
Wheat offal = 3kg
Maize bran = 5kg
Palmoil/Soya oil = 2kg
Bonemeal. = 2.5kg
Limestone =1.5kg
Broiler starter premix= 250gram
Methionine = 200gram
Lysine = 200gram
Toxin binder = 100gram
Salt. = 250 gram
Clove. = 200gram
Tumeric = 200gram
Black pepper = 200gram

Cp - 21.37%
Fat - 6.57%

To produce 25kg of the feed, just divide each kg by 4. E.g.
Maize= 48 kg /4 = 12 kg
Soyabean meal = 24/4 = 6kg
Gnc = 10/4 = 2.5kg
Fish meal = 3/4 = 750gram
Ricebran =3/4 = 750gram
Wheatoffal = 3/4 = 750gram
Maizebran = 5/4 =1.25kg
Soya/palm oil =2/4= 500gram
Methionine = 200gram/4 = 50g
Lysine =200gram/4 = 50g
Toxin binder = 200gram/4 = 50g
Premix = 250gram/4 = 62.5g
Salt =250gram/4 = 62.5g
Clove =200gram/4 = 50g
Tumeric=200gram/4 = 50g
Black pepepr =200gram/4 = 50g.
To produce 50 kg,you multiply by 2.

YOUR FEED SHOULD NOT STAY MORE THAN A WEEK DUE TO RANCIDITY (SPOILAGE) THAT MIGHT BE CAUSE AS A RESULT OF OIL IN THE FEED
