A 31-year-old worker has been placed in jail detention by the Ofaakor Circuit Court for allegedly stealing his pastor's 12 gold rings worth GH120,000.

When the accused, Danladi Abass, appeared before the court presided over by Mr Ebenezer Osei Darko, he pleaded not guilty to the allegation of theft.

The complainant, Rev Kelvin Bour, a pastor of the Seventh Day Good News Ambassadors Church, and Abass, according to the prosecutor, were both inhabitants of Everlip in Kasoa.

He said that around a year ago, Abass, a complainant's church member, told him (complainant) that he (Abass) had dreamed about someone gifting him riches and that he was advised to trade in gold business.  According to the prosecution, the priest warned Abass against becoming involved in the gold industry since it was full of con artists.

During the talk, Chief Inspector Annobil said, the pastor raced to his room and pulled out 12 gold rings worth GH120,000 to show the accused the quality of real gold.

He said that following the meeting, Abass walked into his pastor's room and grabbed all 12 gold rings, which he then sold at Adabraka.

The prosecutor stated that the search for the gold rings was still ongoing.
