President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has sent his condolences to Kenya's government and people following the death of Mwai Kibaki, the country's first opposition leader.
Kibaki died on Friday in Nairobi, Kenya's capital, after serving as president from December 30, 2002 until April 9, 2013.
He was 90 years old at the time.
"On behalf of the people and government of Ghana, I express my profound condolences to President Uhuru Kenyatta, the people and government of Kenya, on the passing of His Excellency Nwai Kibaki, the historic third President of the Republic of Kenya."

Akufo-Addo is the president of Ghana. Since Kenya's independence in 1962, Mr. Kibaki's victory in 2002 marked the end of 40 years of one-party rule.
The renowned economist is credited for turning Kenya's economic fortunes around and making it into an East African powerhouse.
Judy Wanjiku, Jimmy Kibaki, David Kagai, and Tony Githinji are his children.
Kenyan President Uhuru Kenyatta proclaimed a time of mourning for Mr Kibaki after learning of his death last Friday.
Next Friday, the former head of state will be granted a state funeral with full military honors.
