Chelsea facing transfer blow as Erick Ten Hag planning for £50m Man Utd signing that Tuchel seriously needs
Antonio Rudiger’s sad exit has left Chelsea desperately planning for a left-sided centre-back
though reports have demonstrated that Man Utd could stand on their plans for their option ,Pau Torres.
Thomas Tuchel currently confirmed Rudiger will exit Chelsea this coming summer. The German CB
has been nothing short of superb performance over the last two seasons. However, his time at Stamford Bridge
is now coming to an end.
Real Madrid are the recently coming for what would be crucial free agent swoop.
Tuchel emphasized that Chelsea did all they could to maintain his star centre-half,
though the club’s current situation made that goal unbecoming.
The Blues are currently not able to sign or sell new players, or indeed negotiate new contracts
with current stars. Sadly for those of a Chelsea persuasion, those sanctions will be lifted when the new bosess are in control
As such, the Telegraph report Tuchel will tell the new owners that two new defenders are needed this summer.
Aside from Rudiger, Andreas Christensen could also depart with Barcelona around the summer
Cesar Azpilicueta’s future is also in question.
Rudiger will be the most challenging to replace given he was the only elite player capable of operating
on the left side of a back three. Malang Sarr has deputised in the position on occasion this year,
though the youngster is far from the finished article as yet.
The Telegraph shows Villarreal’s Pau Torres would be the stand-out alternative. However,
it’s acknowledged contest for his signature is expected from Man Utd.
The Red Devils too are looking for new additions at the back. ESPN recently added, the incoming manager
Erik ten Hag has already put Eric Bailly and Phil Jones up for sale.
Pau Torres in high demand in England.
The Manchester Evening News reported last week that Torres is being targeted for a summer switch
to Old Trafford. The Spaniard holds a release clause of around £50m in his contract.
The Telegraph add Chelsea’s current sanctions could see Man United sign Pau Torres ahead of others
