The Minister for Sanitation and Water Resources, Mrs. Cecilia Abena Dapaah, has asked beneficiaries of the Livelihood Empowerment Against Poverty (LEAP) program to use the monies to meet their basic requirements.

This would contribute to the government's goal of assisting the severely poor and marginalized in society with basic needs such as food, medications, and other necessities of life.

Mrs Dapaah, who is also the Caretaker Minister of Gender, Children and Social Protection, made the announcement while inspecting the continuing LEAP payments in the Ashanti Region.

The purpose of the inspection was to monitor and ensure that the funds were disbursed correctly to assist the beneficiaries in meeting their needs. The LEAP program provides a cash transfer to Ghana's poorest and most vulnerable households.

The initiative attempts to alleviate poverty by encouraging human capital development and smoothing consumption among extremely poor households.

The LEAP cash awards are meant to improve impoverished households' access to services and opportunities while also assisting them in meeting their basic requirements.

Mrs. Abena Dapaah expressed satisfaction with the disbursement of the funds to the Ghana News Agency (GNA) following the inspection.

She stated that the process had been smooth due to the digitalization of the process, and that the issuance of the receipts had showed a high level of satisfaction.
