Nana Baffour Kwabena Baah, the Akwansrahene ('Visiting Chief') of Kyebi Apapam, has advised chiefs and queen mothers in the Akyem region to refrain from selling lands without the permission of Osagyefo Amoatia Ofori Panin, the Okyehene.
He urged the Eastern Regional Lands Commission to disregard any land records that were not signed by the Okyehene, who is the only owner of all of Okyeman's stool lands.
Nana Baah, who is also the Chief Executive Officer of the Baavim Real Estate Construction Company, delivered the advise at the Akwasidae Festival of the chiefs and people of Kyebi Apapam, in an interview with the Ghana News Agency.
Chiefs and queen mothers from Adoagyiri, Sakyikrom, Kyekyewere, Bonkua No.1 and No.2, Asuboi, Anom, Amanase, Mankrong, Budu Suhum, Coaltar, Adeiso, Fankyenekor, and KofiKwei, among others, attended the celebration.
Nana Baah stated that the Okyeman's estates ran from Adoagyiri to Jejeti and that they were not family lands, urging settlers to submit their land documents for certification to Okyehene Ahenfie at Kyebi.
