A reception organized by the British High Commission in Accra to honour Queen Elizabeth II's 95th birthday was attended by a number of dignitaries, including former UK Prime Minister Tony Blair.
The Minister of Tourism, Culture and Creative Arts, Dr Ibrahim Mohammed Awal, welcomed Ghana's visitors to the ceremony on Tuesday, which also marked the start of the longest-serving monarch's silver jubilee on the throne.
While recounting his first encounter with the Queen after his election as Prime Minister and before taking office, Mr Blair praised her for being an inspiration to people in the UK and throughout the globe.
He said the Queen's graciousness, generosity, and unwavering commitment to duty set an example for all. Mr Blair praised Ghana as a magnificent country with a bright future as a global leader, praising the longstanding bilateral connections between the two countries.
"You will encounter Ghanaians everywhere in the globe who are full of optimism and hope, and they are brilliant and bright people," he said.
"We are proud of the relationship that exists between the United Kingdom and Ghana, and we wish to strengthen it." We believe in this nation, in its future, in its people, and we know that Ghana will be one of the great African countries of the future, as well as one of the great worldwide countries of the future."
The British High Commissioner, Madam Harriet Thompson, with her husband, Mr Nick. Mr Blair commended Ghana as a beautiful nation with a bright future as a global leader, hailing the two countries' long-standing bilateral ties.
"You will meet Ghanaians all over the world who are full of hope and optimism, and they are clever and intelligent people," he remarked.
"The United Kingdom and Ghana have a strong connection, which we want to strengthen." We believe in our country, its future, and its people, and we are confident that Ghana will be one of the great African nations of the future, as well as one of the great nations of the globe."
Madam Harriet Thompson, British High Commissioner, and her husband, Mr Nick Thompson. She said she was thrilled to announce an almost 10 million cedis turbocharge for Ghana's e-mobility, battery, and charging industry, thanks to financing from their UK charity partners, the Shell Foundation.
"One of the organizations that has already benefited from this funding is Kofa, and I hope to see many more in the future."

Dr. Awal sent his sincerest congratulations to the Queen, Prime Minister Boris Johnson, and the Government and People of the United Kingdom on behalf of President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, the Government, and the People of Ghana.
