1) When making a soup, sauce, that ends up too fatty or greasy, drop in an ice cube. The ice will attract the fat, which you can then scoop out. This works wonders.
2) When boiling eggs, add salt to the boiling water to keep the shells from cracking.
3) If your salt is becoming lumpy, put a few grains of rice in with it to absorb the excess moisture.
4) HOMEMADE SHOWER HEAD CLEANER
Use this "explosive" homemade cleanser to blast away all of your shower's hard water deposits:
a third of a cup of baking soda
a single cup of white vinegar
a single plastic bag
1 large bag twisty tie
----In a bag over a sink, combine baking soda and vinegar.
Caution: Slowly pour vinegar into bag; there will be a "explosive" foaming action.
----Hang the sack over the shower head. Make sure it's completely immersed in the baking soda solution.
-----Twist the tie to keep it in place.
-----Soak the shower head in the solution for at least 2 hours or overnight.
----Wipe the shower head clean before using it.
Now you can relax and enjoy your free-flowing shower head! It's a simple and inexpensive process.
5) If you're making gravy(stew) and accidentally burn it, just pour it into a clean pan and continue cooking it. Add sugar a little at a time, tasting as you go to avoid 'over-sugaring' it. The sugar will cancel out the burned taste.
6) Always keep an aloe vera plant in your kitchen. It’s invaluable when you scrape your arm or burn your finger. Just break off a leaf and rub the gel from the inside on the injury.
7) If your milk always goes bad before you can finish it, try adding a pinch of salt to the carton when you first open it. It will stay fresh days longer.
8) For splinters under the fingernail, soaking the affected finger in a bowl of milk with a piece of bread in it will help.
9) Clean up at night before bed. Wash all dishes, wipe down kitchen & bathroom. Sweep & mop or swiffer the floors. And do a general pick up. Also clean up as you cook.
10) Wrinkle Release
----Mix equal parts fabric softener, white vinegar and water in a spray bottle.
----Spray on fabric and pull slightly, wrinkle will straighten out! You can also put fabric in the dryer after spraying to see some results.
11) Put a wet paper towel under cutting board to keep it from sliding around while you are chopping food.
12) Melt a stick of butter in a pan.
Slice one lemon and layer it on top of the butter.
Put down fresh shrimp, then sprinkle one pack of dried Italian seasoning.
Put in the oven and bake at 350 for 15min.
One of the best Shrimp you will EVER taste.
13) Bathtub scrubbing Hack
Use equal amounts ( Preferably: 1 cup Heinz cleaning vinegar and one cup blue Dawn).
Heat your vinegar and pour into a good spray bottle.
Add your dawn to your cleaning vinegar and shake to be a little thick
Spray on your tub and leave for about one hour.
Now rinse off.You're going to love this
14).Dawn soap, peroxide and baking soda will get almost all set in baby food stains out.
15) Make it a habit to rinse each dish before putting it in the sink.
Put some dish soap in there and fill with hot water if it's something that may stain or require scrubbing. In the long term, this couple of extra minutes saves a lot of time. Everything will be almost clean when you go to wash the dishes, and it will be a breeze.
16) To peel multiple cloves of garlic with ease: put in a lidded jar and shake for about one minute.
They'll come out peeled
17) Place a dishwasher cube in the pot with the food that is impossible to remove. Fill with boiling water and let aside to soak (can be done overnight).
It's a complete game changer!
18) Use chalk to remove grease stains from clothings. The grease is subsequently absorbed by the chalk, which is then brushed off and washed.
19) When drying damp garments, use a dry towel in the tumble dryer. This absorbs moisture and allows garments to dry faster.
20) Use neat vodka on a moist towel to remove carpet and upholstery stains. After rubbing a little, place the cloth on the stain for around 5 minutes. Remove the item and allow it to dry. If any stain remains, repeat the process.
