After sexual misconduct allegations, Tim Westwood has stood down from his Capital Xtra radio show "until further notice," according to the station's parent company.
The British hip-hop DJ was fired after seven women accused him of inappropriate sexual behavior and touching.
"Tim Westwood has stood aside from his show until further notice, following the claims that have recently come to light," Global said in a statement on Wednesday.
Westwood categorically disputes the allegations.
The BBC and The Guardian published a joint investigation on Tuesday that included the experiences of seven women who claimed to have been involved in alleged occurrences between 1992 and 2017.
For nine years, Westwood, 64, hosted a Saturday night program on hip-hop radio Capital Xtra. From 1994 to 2013, he aired shows on BBC Radio 1 and 1Xtra.
Due to the claims, two of his upcoming DJ sets in Birmingham and Bognor Regis have been canceled.
The women accused Westwood of predatory sexual behavior and touching, alleging that he exploited them by abusing his position in the music industry.
Two women claimed he had started unwanted and unexpected intercourse, one woman claimed she had been exposed to unwanted oral sex, and four women claimed he had touched their bottoms or breasts.
