This a viral disease that spread through mites and ticks in open wound of birds, or through insect bite like mosquito in the un-feathered parts of the bird. It is of two forms. Very common with turkeys.

??DRY POX
Morbidity is 10-95%, while mortality is quite low.
PREVENTION
Good hygiene on the farm and surrounding environment.
Disinfect wounded birds with Aloe Vera gel.
Treatment:
Use organic antibiotics with anti-inflammatory properties as preventive measures against secondary bacteria. E.g. "Turmeric or Garlic. Together with the three supplement, you have little problem with fowl pox.
Lime (fruits) Treatment, Neem Oil/Sheabutter And Palm Oil Treatment
Make use of Lime fruit, cut open and rub on the affected wattle and comb. Then mix equal volume of neem oil( Pounded Neem leaf will work), palm oil and Shea butter, apply the nix to the affected areas.
DOSAGE
Then add 15ml of lime fruit juice and 1g of turmeric in 4 liters of water for 4 days.
DRY POX
This appears on several parts of the bird's head that isn't covered by feathers, the combs, face and wattles, you see dry scabs on these parts
Caruncles, snoods etc It is not as fatal as wet pox.
WET POX
This is very fatal, it appears inside the beak and down the throats, It is fatal, and it can stop the bird from eating, So it also kills, is more fatal.
Dry pox can lead to wet pox if not tended on time. The major culprit that spreads fowl pox is MOSQUITOES.
PREVENTION
First preventive measure is to clear away every form of standing water around the coop, if you can't help, spray liquid smoke on stagnant water to kill mosquitoes and its lavae and break the cycle of mosquito’s reproduction, then give the aforesaid organic antibiotics to the birds. Make sure you keep the population of mosquitoes down For the good of your birds and your own good.
# Another Effective Solution.
Another effective method is to scrape off the dry scalps on the combs, wattles, carbuncles, snoods and face till you open a sore, Then apply Aloe Vera Gel or Lime Fruit On the sore. At the same time, make sure the birds are on the 3 supplements. Morbidity is 10-95%, while mortality is quite low.
