The Deputy President will host the 13th African Games Salah Football Tournament in Medina

The Vice President of Ghana, HE Mahamadu Bawumia, and Alhaji Dr. Sheik Sharubutu, national chief executive Imam will win the African Games Salah Football Competition final at Fadama AstroTurf on May 14 and 15.
Mr. Osei Mensah Bonsu, Director of Labor in the Department of Youth and Sport on behalf of the Minister, Hon. Mustapha Ussif presented the Salah Football Tournament at a press conference at Accra Sports Stadium last Tuesday.
He said the football tournament was to promote social cohesion, brotherhood, and peace, as it ensured the readiness and loyalty of the Local Organizing Committee (LOC).
He focuses on the culture embedded in the African Games, as well as the people of Ghana who must make the international sporting event attractive and successful, which is why the LOC begins its sessions of communication and awareness about Salah Football among Muslims.
Dr. Kwaku Ofosu-Asare, Executive Chairman of the LOC for African Games revealed that they have visited many people and places and received blessings from the national Imam who will be the finalist and Deputy President Bawumia,
He announced a meeting with the king of Effutu Traditional Area for the upcoming Aboakyer Festival, organizing street shows to raise awareness and promote the 13 African Games.
Drs. Foros-Asare commented on the launch of the African Games Fund which every Ghanaian has to contribute.
Eight Zongo communities will compete in the Salah Mamobi, Nima, Tudu, Cowlane, Accra New Town, Shukura, Fadama, and Medina competitions.
After the first draw of players under the supervision of Drs. Emmanuel Owusu Ansah LOC deputy chief executive, Mamobi will face Shukura, New Town will face Madina, Fadama will face Cowlane and Tudu will face Nima.
The Deputy Director-General (Technical) of the National Sports Authority (NSA), Mr. Kwame Amponfi Jnr. said the Salah Football tournament has arrived, as the games can be used for socio-economic development and to promote unity, justice, morality, and peace.
At stake are the extravagant cups donated by Point 5 Ventures, and 10,000ghc to the finalists, 8,000ghc to runners-up, 6,000ghc to third place, and 4,000ghc to fourth place.
African World Airlines (AWA), Goil, and Adidas are sponsors of this football tournament.
Miss Joslin Andoh, AWA's marketing manager, emphasized that they were happy to be part of the African Games and hoped to fly people from Tamale, Kumasi, and Takoradi to Accra, as well as from Nigeria, Liberia, and Sierra Leone.
Mr. Goil's Robert Kyere reaffirmed the full support and commitment towards the 2023 African Games, the 13th edition, the first of its kind in Ghana. He expressed his happiness and satisfaction as Goil closely followed the LOC and committed to the 13th African Games.
Fifty-five African countries including Ghana will meet in Accra in August next year to take part in 25 sports events at the 13 African African Olympics.
