Tammy Abraham concedes Mo Salah and Romelu Lukaku had influence in his Chelsea exit
The striker withdrew Chelsea in the late spring in a £40m change to AS Roma and has now discussed his choice to leave his childhood club in the midst of talk over a likely return
Previous Chelsea striker Tammy Abraham has proposed that he took motivation from Mohamed Salah and Romelu Lukaku in front of his exit from Stamford Bridge.
The England forward left his childhood club the previous summer in a £40m change to Italian goliaths having tumbled down the hierarchy in west London. He was just managed the cost of four beginnings by Thomas Tuchel following the German's appearance north of a year prior.
The transition to the Stadio Olimpico finished his 17-year spell with the Blues. Abraham has conceded that his choice to stop the club was not a simple one to make - yet focused on any semblance of Salah and Lukaku for motivation, the pair having flourished since stopping Chelsea before in their vocations.
Conversing with The Athletic, he said: "It was troublesome, a hard choice [leaving Chelsea]. I was there since I was a youngster and all I knew was London, all I knew was Chelsea, aside from my advances (to Bristol City, Swansea City and Aston Villa).
"Be that as it may, there's a period in your profession where you need to give what's all for you. I needed to go out and really establish myself once more. From the main day I set foot here [at Roma], that was my objective.
"I've seen any semblance of Kevin De Bruyne, Mo Salah and Lukaku leave Chelsea and spread their wings. They're the best players on the planet.
"As far as I might be concerned, it's tied in with doing likewise and regardless of whether it's not the Premier League, it's tied in with going out and learning an alternate culture and encountering various things. It's tied in with saying, 'Guess what? This is my time'."
The transition to Roma has absolutely shown to be the right one for Abraham having discovered some incredible structure in the Italian capital. The 24-year-old has scored 24 objectives in his introduction season at the Stadio Olimpico - more than some other player in the club's set of experiences - and could yet complete a season with a prize. Roma take on Leicester City in the Europa Conference League semi-finals and Abraham has proposed that the club's inspirations to get flatware persuaded him to get a move in spite of interest from somewhere else in the Premier League.
