The sod has been cut for the Agenda 111 district hospital project Which H.E Nana Addo Danquah Akofo Addo promised in his State of the Nation Address last year has begun in the Mamprugu Moaduri District of the North East Region One of the New Sixteen regions of the Republic of Ghana.
The project is expected to be completed in 2023 by Mawums Company Limited.
The hospital when completed will have various facilities including , female medical/surgical ward, male and female wards, laboratory, physiotherapy department, administration, public health department, pediatric ward, pharmacy unity, OPD and other auxiliaries that a standard Hospital Requires.
Speaking at the event, the North East Region Minister Yidana Zakaria urged the Mawums Company Limited the construction company Who has been awarded the contract to do a professional work and to complete the project on time.
“Based on your commitment and track record over the years, there are several other contractors who expressed interest among the lots but Mawums Company has been chosen to do the work, it is because of your track record,” he further said.
The project manager, Fredrick Acquah , promised to do an good and satisfactory job who will make both the Nation, government and locals joyous.
“We are telling the community and entire Ghana that we are going to finish at the time expected to give you quality and make sure that everything is according to the specifications as prescribed in the contract,” he said".
For his part, the District chief Executive of the area Hon.Abu Adams thanked the President of Ghana H.E Nana Akuffo Addo for the project, saying that the hospital when completed will go a long way to mitigate the referral cases in the district.
“You can imagine a situation where complicated cases refer to Fumbisi, refer to Walewale and even process of transporting the person to the nearest hospital for attention sometimes it complicate the matter, so it is a timely intervention of the President,” Adams said.
The project when is completed it will be the first of its kind in the district.
