Alot of Ghanaians are hypertensive without knowing and for that reason unable to manage it.
When there is a high intake of bad fat, it attaches to the walls of the blood vessels. When more bad bad is ingested with time it accumulates and block the blood vessels reducing the ease of blood flow and therefore building up pressure in the blood vessels.
When there is an increase in blood pressure, the blood vessels supplying the kidneys weakens and ruptures with time. Blood supply to those specific portion of the kidney halts and for that reason the cells there die. This causes that portion of the kidney not to function well, when this happens there would be an error in filtration of blood in those portion causing an increase in solute concentration of the blood and for that reason further increases blood pressure. As time goes on, other blood vessels that supply the kidneys also rupture making this phenomenon chronic kidney failure.
For diabetic patients, the abnormally high glucose concentration in the blood causes the glomerular portion of the kidneys to be blocked by glucose and also narrows the blood vessels that supply the glomerular portion of the kidneys with blood. This causes and increase in blood pressure and as a result rupture of the blood vessels that supply the kidneys with blood. The kidney cells then die and for that reason increase in blood solute concentration. This ultimately leads to chronic renal failure. For this reason patients with diabetes should be properly managed to mantain a normal amount of glucose in the blood to avoid this condition.
