Jurgen Klopp and Frank Lampard rekindled their rivalry at Anfield on Sunday, and there was no love lost between the two.

When Lampard was manager of Chelsea in 2020, he notoriously clashed with Klopp, who told him to "f*** off." This time around, lip-readers were not required, but it was evident that the animosity between the two Merseyside executives had not subsided in the intervening years.

The pair met near the conclusion of a tumultuous first half between Liverpool and Everton, this time at Anfield. Klopp marched over to Lampard with his arms raised, perhaps disagreeing with the Toffees boss on something. In an encounter that lasted only a few seconds, the two met in the middle of the dugouts. As the two dueling bosses conveyed their various points of view, Klopp pointed to something out on the pitch.

It comes after a similar brawl between the two during Liverpool's Premier League match against Chelsea at Anfield in July 2020. Lampard was enraged at the time because the referee had awarded a free-kick to Liverpool for a foul on Sadio Mane.Lampard was unhappy with the decision, while Klopp believed the Blues were trying to recruit the Senegalese forward. "How can that be considered a foul?" There's nothing wrong with that!" Lampard screamed and motioned for Klopp's helper Pepijn Ljinders to take a seat.

"Relax... relax... relax... relax... relax... relax... relax... relax... relax... relax... Klopp retorted, "Don't talk to my No 2." "No, no, if he starts yelling at me, I'm going to f***ing say something!" Lampard was the one who responded. When a member of Klopp's coaching staff claimed it was still a foul, the Chelsea manager responded with an obscene remark: "It's not a f***ing foul!" I'm not requesting anything from you. He said, "Shut up."

Klopp tried to diffuse the situation by saying "hello," but Lampard was not having it. "F*** off you," the three-time Premier League champion yelled.Lampard told Sky Sports at the time, "I have no problem with Jurgen Klopp; he has managed this club and it is wonderful." "Some of the bench, there's a narrow line between when you're winning and when you've won the league; fair respect to Liverpool Football Club, but don't get too cocky." You get emotional in matchplay, and that's the end of it."

On that occasion, Klopp's Liverpool team triumphed 5-3 over Lampard's Chelsea side at Anfield on a wild night. And the German manager was ecstatic on Sunday after his Reds kept the pressure on Manchester City by defeating Everton 2-0.
