NPP Man dies instantly after constituency election results were declared.
NPP holds delegates conference to elect constituency executives in over 250 constituencies nation wide.
A member of the ruling New Patriotic Party has been reported dead after the declaration of the constituency election results in the Upper East Region of Ghana.
The ruling New Patriotic Party has began in two hundred and fifty (250) constituencies to elect various executives to oversee the it's activities at that level in preparation for the Regional, National and Flagbearership race ahead of the 2024 elections this weekend.
According to the Upper East Regional Chairman, Anthony Namoo who confirmed the news that the delegate who doubles as an Assembly member of the Bolgatanga municipal assembly, Amaliba Azika collapsed after his candidate was defeated in the elections.
The deceased was rushed to the Upper East Regional hospital but was pronounced dead upon arrival by medical staff as reported by mynewsgh.com.
Speaking with Bolgatanga based A1 radio in an interview, the Regional Chairman extended his condolences to the family of the deceased, friends and all members of the elephant fraternity for that great loss in such manner.
"My condolences goes to Bolgatanga Central. I understand that after the declaration of some results, one of our party members have collapsed and unfortunately was pronounced dead upon arrival at the Upper East Regional hospital.
That goes to show how people can invest their minds, hearts, thoughts and emotions in the party. It is our prayer that God will grant him a peaceful rest. He died fighting for a good course for our party that he believed in", he said sadly.
The New Patriotic Party began it's reorganization for the 2024 elections earlier this year with the elections of polling station officers and electoral area coordinators which was marred with a few hitches. A process for the election of constituency executives began last week after picking of nominations forms, submitting of forms and vetting of aspirants.
The elections is being organized in over two hundred and fifty (250) constituencies nationwide wide the remaining twenty-five been suspended by party leadership decisions or court injunctions. It is expected to end on Sunday.
Positions being contested by party members are constituency chairperson, 1st Vice constituency chairperson, 2nd Vice constituency chairperson, constituency secretary, constituency treasurer, constituency assistant secretary, constituency organizer, constituency women's organizer, constituency youth organizer and constituency NASARA coordinator.
