Chelsea were about to sell their star forward before making a U-turn

Chelsea were ready to sell forward Armando Broja earlier in the season, but he has decided to stay.

Broja has been on loan at Southampton, where he has had a strong start to the season. Although his form has dipped in recent months, the Albanian striker is still young, and Chelsea sees potential in him.

Chelsea were willing to sell the 20-year-old but will now allow him to leave on loan again next season, according to Tuttomercatoweb. They expect him to compete for a first-team spot after his next loan.

According to the report, Napoli were close to completing a deal for the forward as a replacement for Victor Osimhen. After owner Roman Abramovich was sanctioned, the club decided that Broja would not be leaving.

Broja may have hoped for a first-team spot next season with Romelu Lukaku out of form. Broja might have had a chance if he had kept up his strong start at Southampton, but his recent slump suggests he isn't quite ready to make the step up.

Tuchel admits that Chelsea's summer transfers are being hampered by takeover uncertainty: 'Our hands are tied.'

Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel has admitted that the club's current precarious situation will have a negative impact on the summer transfer window.

Government sanctions imposed on outgoing owner Roman Abramovich have had a significant impact on day-to-day operations at Stamford Bridge.

As a result, activity in the upcoming window is likely to be limited, though Tuchel hopes that a change in ownership will provide some relief.

What impact will the sanctions have on Chelsea's summer plans?

According to Tuchel, the club has been unable to make any moves prior to the window opening due to the ongoing sanctions.

"You can never be completely certain, but we would have had some targets and would have contacted some players to learn about their situations. Without a doubt, "On Wednesday, the manager spoke to reporters.

"Our hands are now tied; we can still talk inside the building, but we can't act."

The situation is far from ideal. This is the scenario. With a stable situation, it would be difficult enough. We don't have that, so everyone is doing it for the first time, as far as I know." And we try to demonstrate our commitment, our passion for it, and this is perhaps very important for me to convey: I'm committed, I'm looking forward to it, and I'm passionate about it."

"Moreover as soon as we are able to act, we will try to act in order to turn things around and turn a disadvantage into an advantage. However, I do not have a solution at this time, but we will try to remain optimistic."
