Liverpool is negotiating a world-record-breaking new jersey sponsorship contract worth up to £80 million each season.
The Reds' existing jersey sponsorship deal with British bank Standard Chartered expires at the conclusion of the 2022-23 season, but according to the Mail Online, all sides are willing to continue working together if a new deal can be agreed.
However, due to Liverpool's tremendous expansion as a business and sports company in recent seasons, Standard Chartered will almost certainly have to quadruple their present £40 million-a-year arrangement.
The club's stock has never been greater thanks to the popularity of manager Jurgen Klopp and star players like as Mohamed Salah and Virgil van Dijk, as well as recent on-field success.
The Reds are still in contention for the remaining three trophies on offer this season, having won the Carabao Cup in February. They won the Champions League in 2019 and the Premier League in 2020.
After taking over from Danish brewers Carlsberg in 2010, Standard Chartered inked their current arrangement with Liverpool at the end of the 2017-18 season.
According to the Mail Online, Liverpool's owners, Fenway Sports Group, are confident that the club's next shirt sponsorship deal will break the world record sum in football. According to merchandise analysts, the club currently has the highest selling shirts worldwide, with the club expecting to pass the two million mark for the first time.
While Standard Chartered will want to extend their partnership if they can afford it, interest in Liverpool is thought to be huge across various sectors, with electronics companies, travel companies, consumer goods, cryptocurrency and blockchain providers, and media outlets joining financial services in talks with the Reds hierarchy.
Klopp's decision to pledge his future to the club until 2026 will undoubtedly play a significant role in whatever agreement the club eventually agrees on, with the enormously popular German manager establishing himself as one of the game's top managers throughout his time with the Reds.
With the recent additions of Luis Diaz, Diogo Jota, and Ibrahima Konate to the team, the former Borussia Dortmund manager is aiming to supervise the building of his next great side at Anfield.
