The price of petrol and diesel is expected to rise slightly at pumps in the first price window from May 1 to May 15, this year.

The Chamber of Petroleum Consumers (COPEC) predicts that prices for these pumps are expected to be sold at GH 5 9.538 liters of fuel and GH ¢ 10.829 liters of diesel.

In comparison, prices then went up by 19GHp a liter (1.94%) over the previous window, and petrol went up by 7GHp a liter, representing 0.7%, and diesel by 32GHp a liter, representing 3%.

This will bring the average price of petrol and diesel in the next window to GH ¢ 10.183 liters.

On the other hand, Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) will probably sell for about GH?10.093 per kilogram, showing a decrease of about 21GHp or 2 percent over the previous window.

The effect of the earth

In an interview with the Daily Graphic yesterday, he said the changes reflected the general exchange rate for petrol, the exchange rate for petrol, the exchange rate for dollars, and the fuel tax.

“At the current average price of $ 104.56 a barrel, resulting in $ 1,057.44 metric tons of petrol and $ 1,138.33 per ton of diesel metric in the international market, corresponding to the exchange rate of $ 1: GH ¢ 7.8165 and government tax rebate 15 still in existence, COPEC awaits preliminary fuel prices in the next tariff window, from May 1 to May 15, "the release said.

It said that given that there is no sudden disruption of crude oil prices, which could lead to a change in the price of petrol and diesel in the international market, then the prices of front pumps are expected to be in line with the figures in the next window.

“The expected increase in fuel prices is due to the depreciation of the dollar and the increase in the price of finished products (petrol and diesel) in the international market despite falling prices.
