So far, Ningo Prampram MP Sam Nartey George has called on the government and the Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA).
E-levy deductions officially started today, May 1, 2022, with a 1.5% tax levied on activities over GHc100 between different mobile phone or bank accounts.
In a twitter post, Sam George accused the government of rushing to use the E-levy to frustrate the suspension case.

Dear Ghana Revenue Authority - Official, have you seen a lot of complaints and chaos in your use of the disgusting e-Levy? Is this the best May Day gift you can give to hardworking Ghanaians on behalf of President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo?
My colleague, the Honorable John Ampontuah Kumah, the Deputy Minister of Finance called me a liar that the system suspension was wrong, and that GRA and the Department were wrong should bow their heads in shame.
I told the Nation that even the GH50 transactions would be charged 1.5% of the e-Levy due to the nature of their transaction. I also said that the retrieval APIs have not been updated and used so even if people have been charged incorrectly, there is no solution. Here we are!
The shocking nature of the initiation process is what we see in an attempt to frustrate the court case. This turmoil is about on-net transactions oh, wait for the real chaos when they try off-net platforms and collaboration. The worst is yet to come. Pray for Ghana.
