David Alaba, a defender for Real Madrid, will not play in the second leg of his team's UEFA Champions League semifinal against Manchester City.According to renowned Spanish writer Miguel Angel Diaz, the Austrian has been ruled out of the game due to a fibrillar rupture in the adductor. Diaz revealed the news on his verified Twitter account, along with a suggestion that Carlo Ancelotti's favourite defensive pairing might be Eder Militao and Nacho.

"The adductor of David Alaba has a fibrillar rupture. He is still unable to pass the turf and is effectively ruled out of the Manchester City match. On Wednesday, Nacho and Militao would be the center of attention."

Real Madrid will be confident coming into the game after completing the La Liga season with a 4-0 home win against RCD Espanyol.

To assure a a 1st finish, Los Blancos needed a point versus Espanyol.Rodrygo got the party started with a brace in the first half, and Marco Asensio sealed the triumph in the 54th minute. With four games remaining, Karim Benzema came off the bench to score his 26th league goal of the season, securing the title.

Manchester City, meanwhile, kept their Premier League title ambitions alive with a 4-0 hammering of Leeds United at the Etihad Stadium on Saturday.

For Pep Guardiola's side, four different players scored to help them recover their one-point lead at the top of the table.Real Madrid has not been at their best this season, but they have been clinical enough to win the league with four games remaining. This says as much about their opponents' decline in quality as it does about Los Blancos' brilliance and professionalism.

The Spanish powerhouse will be aiming for a record-extending 14th UEFA Champions League trophy after winning their 35th league title.

Real Madrid hasn't won on the continent since 2018, which is a long time given their previous dominance in the sport. Manchester City, on the other hand, is a relative newcomer on the continent who is still figuring out where they fit into the European hierarchy.City also has Premier League action to contend with, as they are currently locked in a tight title race with Liverpool that is expected to go to the wire.

But for the next two days, they'll be completely focused on Wednesday's crucial second-leg match at the Santiago Bernabeu.
