Arsenal are allegedly interested in signing Tammy Abraham, a former Chelsea striker.

According to the Daily Star, if they qualify for the UEFA Champions League, the north London club could make a £50 million approach for the AS Roma striker.

Arsenal parted ways with Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang in January after manager Mikel Arteta barred him from the first squad owing to disciplinary issues. The Gunners, on the other hand, did not send in any reinforcements.

Alexandre Lacazette and Eddie Nketiah are their only recognised strikers. The duo, on the other hand, might leave as free agents this summer. As a result, Arsenal's top transfer target may be Tammy Abraham.

The 24-year-old progressed through Chelsea's levels before making his debut in the 2015-16 season. In the 2019-20 season, he had a breakout season, scoring 18 goals in 47 games across all competitions.

Following the arrivals of Timo Werner and Kai Havertz in the summer of 2020, he slid further down the pecking order. Last season, he only made 22 Premier League appearances for Chelsea, the majority of which were as a substitute. After that, he was signed by AS Roma for £34 million. Abraham has made an immediate impact, scoring 24 goals in 46 games across all competitions.

Despite just spending one season in the Italian city, the striker might be persuaded back to England by a return to the Premier League. Arsenal is interested in bringing the 24-year-old back to the capital this summer.

Arsenal may sell Nicolas Pepe in order to sign Tammy Abraham, a former Chelsea player.

Nicolas Pepe was signed for a club-record sum of £72 million in north London.

He has, however, fallen short of his hefty price tag. He only scored eight goals in his first season and 16 last year.

This season, though, he has fallen out of favour with Arteta, scoring only three times in 20 appearances. As a result, the Gunners may be able to trade him this summer and reclaim some of his transfer money in order to sign a prolific scorer like Abraham.

The winger is also willing to quit the club this summer, according to the Mirror.
