Todd Boehly's consortium appears to be on the verge of acquiring Chelsea Football Club. They were accorded preferred bidder status last week, indicating that they are on the verge of becoming the club's new owners. Sir Jim Ratcliffe's late proposal isn't completely ruled out, but it now appears like Boehly and his group will be receiving the keys to Stamford Bridge in the near future.
Todd Boehly is one of the invited speakers at the four-day 2022 Milken Institute Global Conference, which is currently taking place in Beverly Hills.
He has previously expressed his admiration for sports and, more significantly, the supporters and their passion, and he has done so again in new words that will undoubtedly excite all Chelsea fans."Sports excite passion like nothing else," Boehly added, according to WAGNH. "People who care about things have passion, and people who care about things have passion." And you have a fantastic potential if you have people who care about things. And, at the end of the day, it's all about curating that experience, that access, that chance.
"This year, for example, we expect 4 million people to attend Dodger Stadium. As a result, our goal is to provide them with the finest experience possible. For a stadium that is often sold out, we still have the most affordable tickets in the league.Hence, when it comes to price points and sports, we just feel they aren't being produced in sufficient quantities, so scarcity value is implicit. And we've been concentrating solely on the most well-known brands. They split all of the media money in some sports, such as the NFL. You're essentially a derivative of your local market in baseball.
"It's comparable in the Premier League." When you consider how things function, being a huge brand gives you a structural advantage. And we're continuously on the lookout for structural advantages.Because it's digital, you're just calling it 'tokenization.' But the reality is that if you want to buy Green Bay Packers shares, it is 'tokenization,' in my opinion. You have no rights or authority over the Packers, but you can claim a 'interest' in them.
"I think loyalty programs, whether it's Vivid Seats, the Dodgers, the Lakers, or Chelsea, are all looking about how to develop direct client ties." And if that comes in the form of 'tokenization,' so be it; what we actually want is direct access to our following.
"And if we have direct connection to our following, we can start thinking about [having] a lot of various levels of different people that we can interact with."
