The Egyptian forward is already planning his third Champions League final with Liverpool in five seasons, and he knows exactly who he wants to play against.

Mohamed Salah has a strong personal preference for who Liverpool will face in the Champions League final this season.

The Reds qualified for this season's final after a comeback win over Villarreal in the semi-finals on Tuesday. Salah had supplied the assist for Sadio Mane’s second goal in last week’s two-goal win over the Spanish side at Anfield but the Reds were left shivering over their spot in the final after a contest from Unai Emery’s team in the second league .

Goals from Boulaye Dia and Francis Coquelin gave Villarreal a two-goal lead on the night to level the tie on aggregate, leaving Jurgen Klopp's side stunned, but they responded in style after the break. After the break, Fabinho, Luis Diaz, and Sadio Mane all scored for the visitors as Liverpool won on the night and clinched a 5-2 aggregate victory.

Salah spoke to BT Sport after the game and made a firm decision on who he wants to face in the Champions League final in Paris. The Reds will face the winner of Real Madrid vs. Manchester City in the second leg of their semi-final on Wednesday, after Pep Guardiola's side defeated Madrid in the first leg.

The Egyptian forward wants to face the Spanish side in the final after falling short against them in the previous year's showpiece event. Salah was forced off early in that game due to an injury, and Real Madrid went on to win the trophy 3-1.

Salah stated following the game in Villarreal: "To be honest, I want to play for Real Madrid. We played against City a few times this season and they are a very tough team. Personally, I believe I would prefer Madrid. We lost to them in the final, so I want to play against them and hopefully win."

Salah congratulates the visiting Liverpool fans on their victory over Villarreal.

Speaking of achieving personal goals and assisting the Reds in accomplishing a possible historic quadruple, Salah continued: "Top assists isn't always a big deal, but top goal scorer is always a big deal. When I handed the ball to Fab today, everything changed. Goals and assists are both important. Let's hope for the best because the team is performing admirably." Without a doubt [on quadruple being the target], without a doubt. Maybe not at the start of the season because I was always focused on the Champions League and the Premier League, but now that we are in contention for everything, why not? We started thinking about the Quadruple after we beat City in the FA Cup semi-finals, but even in the Champions League group stage, we played amazing, we had a tough group and played amazing. I began to believe we were going to win the Champions League since then."

Liverpool still has a long way to go this season, trailing Manchester City by a single point in the Premier League title race, while also facing the Champions League final and the FA Cup final against Chelsea.
