The serial a has slip out of the hands of the former serial a heavyweights as they now look forward to securing a fourth place in the league to book a place for them in the next champions league competition.

Allegri gave updates on all the players in the senior team and the young academic players and the points they look forward to attaining.

Juventus face their penultimate away league match of the season when they meet Genoa at the Ferraris Stadium tomorrow, Friday 6 May, with kick off at 21h00 CEST. With the hosts in a precarious position, Massimiliano Allegri expects a complicated match.

“Tomorrow we’ll put out the strongest available starting XI. When Juventus play, we play to win. It is a tough encounter, we’re up against a team battling for their survival in a stadium that will be sold out.

“From now to the end of the campaign we must try to collect as many points as possible. We’ve reached the minimum goal of fourth place with three matches to spare, which means we could do better technically tomorrow because we don’t have the weight of having to reach fourth place on our shoulders.”

He commented on players updates by saying:

“Danilo will be rested. He’ll come back into the fold on Sunday. Luca Pellegrini has an ankle injury, so he’ll sit out, too. Every other player is available, including Juan Cuadrado and Mattia De Sciglio, who is not available for the final of the Italian Cup, so I’m looking for him to give me 90 minutes tomorrow.

“As for the forwards, we’ll see how they respond in training today. They are all fit and able to play.

“Fabio Miretti is available and will play tomorrow. I’m not sure in which position because we’ll need to see how Arthur's ankle is holding out, but yesterday he trained well.”

On the acedamey players he said:

"If youngsters are good they play. There are promising youngsters and the more they play, the more experience they gain, which is fundamental.

"I have to congratulate Coach Zauli because yesterday the Under 23 side progressed through the second round of the Serie C play-offs for the first time. Having a reserve team is very important. Playing in a proper competition against experienced players, they gain more experience and acquire a different mentality than at Under 19 level."

“I’m very happy with how Dusan Vlahovic has been doing and I am really satisfied with him. I didn’t expect him to settle in so quickly here after his move in January. It’s likely that he’ll play tomorrow. Like others, he can only get better.

“Denis Zakaria has come from a different league and it is difficult to play well in every match. Here you use more energy on a mental level. I am very happy with him, he is intelligent and he learns quickly.

"We are just three games from the end of the league season with the cup final still to play. We all have to give our all to the team to get the results. In the end, only what happens on the pitch counts."
