The premier league giants took an early lead in both legs of the champions league semi final competition but failed to seal their victory throughout the full 90minutes as real Madrid came from behind to outscore the visitors through Rodriguez.

Everyone ruled the current laliga giants off during the competition and most legends even made their predictions earlier before the competition by putting the premier league giants ahead of the current crowned laliga champions

 

The legendary Cameroonian striker became an iconic player across five seasons at the Camp Nou while it is often forgotten that he began his career at their rivals and had some amazing moments there before going to join Barcelona

Legendary Barcelona striker Samuel Eto’o has sparked controversy in Spain for a social media post on Real Madrid reaching the Champions League final.

The former Cameroon striker took to social media after the Spanish giants secured a stunning Champions League semi-final comeback victory over Manchester City.

Rodrygo Goes netted twice in the final minute of the match for the Spanish giants as Pep Guardiola’s side capitulated in the closing stages to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory. Karim Benzema’s penalty in extra-time sealed the progress for the Spanish giants after City had led 5-3 on aggregate going into the final minute of regulation time.

The dramatic nature of the match left Real Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti clearly emotional on the sidelines as his side continued their remarkable run in the competition while his counterpart Pep Guardiola was left to rue Man City’s capitulation and failure to reach the final when it was within their grasp.

Eto’o was a central striker during the first two seasons of Guardiola’s coaching tenure at Barcelona, before he was sold to Inter in the summer of 2009. By that stage, the Cameroonian had netted an impressive 130 goals across five seasons at the Camp Nou in a spell that encompassed 199 first-team appearances.

The striker won eight trophies during his time at the Blaugrana including three La Liga titles and two Champions League trophies.

Forming a key part of a formidable attacking including Ronaldinho and then Lionel Messi, he is one of the player’s most iconic in that spell of Barca dominance both domestically and in Europe.

Eto'o is one of the the small number of players ever to play for both sides in the history of football before this current rivals stopped selling players to each other He joined Real Madrid in 1996 from the Cameroonian Kadji Sports Academy – although he only ever made seven first-team appearances for the Spanish capital club and never scored a senior goal.

Real Madrid now set to meet Liverpool in the champions league final to compete for the champions league prestigious award.
