At a lavish ceremony held at the University's Great Hall, his outstanding performance earned him the coveted Ace Anan Ankomah Prize.
Over 100 students received academic achievement awards in various areas of study during the Vice-Academic Chancellor's Excellence Awards on Friday, April 29.
The awards event was canceled last year because of the Covid-19 epidemic. Benjamin Akakpo, a JoyNews AM Show co-host, has been selected as the University of Ghana School of Law's Best Student in Constitutional Law for 2020/2021. (UGSoL).
His exceptional accomplishment won him the coveted Ace Anan Ankomah Prize at a grandiose ceremony held in the University's Great Hall.
On Friday, April 29, over 100 students won academic accomplishment medals in a variety of fields during the Vice-Academic Chancellor's Excellence Awards.
Last year's awards ceremony was canceled because of the Covid-19 outbreak. "I am ecstatic to have won this honor. "I am happy that I came out on top in such a difficult subject of legal study as Constitutional Law," he said.
From the sciences to the humanities, recipients earned monetary rewards and, in certain cases, laptops and international trips, depending on the sponsoring party.
The Keynote Speaker at the occasion, a Justice of the Supreme Court, Prof Henrietta Mensa-Bonsu, exhorted the prize winners to aspire to higher heights academically. She also pleaded with more individuals and businesses to sponsor the University of Ghana's yearly awards program.
Prof Nana Aba Appiah Amfo, the Vice-Chancellor, praised the University's qualifications in molding national life.
